Coup de Grâce
Coup de Grâce is “the blow of death, a mercy killing of civilians or soldiers, friends or enemies, with or without the sufferer's consent.”

Coup de Grâce is an expressive wine done in a truly original style, with no boundaries and no set direction except for the thought of crafting a red blend that stands alone. A blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc the fruit is sourced from vineyards in key growing regions throughout Northern California.

The Zinfandel is sourced from old vines grown on the western side of Lodi in the Mokelumne River sub-Appellation. Known for its sandy soils and early ripening, this area boasts many of the regions famed Old Vine Zinfandel vineyards. Petite Sirah from both Lodi and the Russian River Valley, add complexity to the wine with color, tannin and the grapes dark fruit and spice characters. Petit Verdot’s late ripening makes the grape well suited for being grown in Lodi. The region's warmer days and dry, extended season ensures optimal ripeness for this rustic varietal that offers dark fruit, leather and earth flavors.  Atlas Peak, the Napa Valley's most highly elevated appellation is where they sourced the 2011 Cabernet Franc. Its rugged location produces a wine with great mouth-feel, red berry, currant and leather notes.  This wine is 100% barrel aged for 18 months, the final blend is created after the individual lots have independently aged and matured.
