Batasiolo
Beni Di Batasiolo (Dogliani Family) is the one of the world’s leading producers of Barolo. With a fantastic connection to the land (renowned, historical vineyards) they tend to be traditionalists that also have a live pulse on the newest wine-making technologies. In the local dialect of old rural Piedmont the word “beni”, meaning “property, assets” denotes not only the farming land belonging to large landowners, but also small holdings: “andé nti beni” means going out into the elds or the vineyards to work or to give instructions.
Nourishment comes from the land and the soul of the farmer, who identies himself with his property and is inextricably tied to the land. ”Beni di Batasiolo”, an amphitheatre of vineyards surrounding their cellars, was the original setting. Over the years, other farms have been added to this nucleus, and now the estate covers nearly one hundred hectares of vineyards, making it one of the largest farming establishmentsin the Langhe.
Wine is made with skillful, loving care in the winery, but it is created in the vineyard. “Beni di Batasiolo” sets out in its name as well to carry forth this age-old intrinsic truth.
