Virgen del Galir

Founded in 2002, the Virgen del Galir winery is all about unique wines from Galicia’s unexplored historic soils. Located in a valley of the Galir River, in Éntoma, a small village in Northern Spain, Galir is part of the Valdeorras appellation, most widely known for its white Godello wines.  The Camino de Santiago River crosses through the village of  Éntoma

The region enjoys a continental climate with cold winters and very warm summers.  Virgen de Galir sources its grapes from the 49 acres it owns which sit 600 meters above sea level.

James Suckling had wonderful things to say about the wine. And gave it 92 points.  “A wine with a delicious density of fruit and dusty texture,” he said of this new wine from CVNE.
